This film is part of Experience Art Rapids 2019: FILMS! and will be shown on June 7 & 8 at 3:30 and 7:00 pm.
Filmed 10 miles north of Elk Rapids, and directed by Patrick Pfister, the film was produced in Barcelona, Spain with the sound mixed and mastered by Tom Weir, a Grammy Award winner, in Los Angles. The Stone Circle is concentric rings of 88 large boulders forming a natural amphitheater. The circular arrangement of boulders was designed by poet bard Terry Wooten to capture the atmosphere of ancient cultures that gathered in family or communal groups to exchange stories of everyday life and lore. Featuring performance poetry, music and storytelling by local artists. A true treasure.
“The Stone Circle is a national treasure safeguarded by host poet Terry Wooten and a dedicated group of artists and musicians. For three decades they have kept the oral tradition of poetry and the flame of art burning brightly. The 30th Anniversary of the Stone Circle was a celebration of outstanding effort in the service of Art and Humanity.” Patrick Pfister, Director
